Welcome Message to the Task Force Task Force Contacts : Distance Learning Contacts - Task Force |
Mission
The Task Force on Distance Learning Library Services was created in May 2001 to allow those responsible for library services to off-campus users at each of the UT System libraries to work and learn together. One of its main purposes is to ensure that those working with distance learning issues communicate with each other. Task Force representatives from the UT System component libraries were selected in consultation with UT library directors. The mission of the Task Force is to foster the exchange of information between the UT System components about distance learning library services, to support and streamline existing services, and to plan new initiatives for the mutual benefit of all UT System libraries, students and faculty. The Task Force created three subcommittees, on Interlibrary Services, Reference, and Circulation, to help keep Task Force members "in touch" with what actually happens in various service units, and provide each component with an opportunity to supply input and guidance from experts who manage or support services locally. |
